This is a quick and fun freehand lettering project I did for a friend of mine to be used on a t-shirt and he was nice enough to make screen an extra copy for my own personal use. Pretty swaggy!
is a boutique production company that specializes in post-production, motion graphics, 3D animation and VR. Officially, I am a Studio Manager/PM here for my day job, but I do also throw my hat in the mix for projects that call for hand-lettering or illustrative components. These are a few projects I contributed to in that capacity.
This mural project was created in collaboration with PLRK Studio who was commissioned to re-design the entire dining space of the cafe with new paint, carpet, light fixtures. As a part of the update, was the mural I designed above the prep area with the phrase "Dessert is the best time of day".

In the pre-internet, BBS era, ANSI was the way most graphics were displayed before bandwidth was able to share VGA graphics over modems. ANSI essentially, is the extended character set for type on standard computers comprising of 16 colors and different sized blocks.
The images here are for menus for BBS's or E-Mags (Electronic Magazines as they were then referred) and this is probably when I first became somewhat curious about typography/lettering, shading effects, and type composition. I was in my early teens, and I was heavily influenced by comic books, graffiti, and fantasy-themed books and games like Final Fanstasy and Dungeons and Dragons.
